Job summary

Pullman Sydney Hyde Park is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Casual Demi Chef to join our kitchen brigade. Located in the heart of Sydney overlooking Hyde Park, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences across our restaurant, bar, room service and events.

This role works closely with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Executive Chef to deliver exceptional experiences. You will prepare and deliver food across service periods, maintain a clean workspace, supervise

• Foundational understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques
• Experience in a hotel or fast-paced kitchen environment
• Commitment to delivering quality food as part of a team
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety standards
• Ability to thrive under pressure and take initiative
• Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver food across breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions and buffets.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic and well-organised workspace; oversee stock rotation and reduce waste.
• Efficiently run an assigned section; support apprentices and junior team members; assist the Chef on duty.
• Monitor daily food and supply requirements; coordinate with supervisors on ordering and compliance with safety regulations.

This role works closely with the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef and Executive Chef to deliver exceptional experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Prepare and deliver food across all service periods - breakfast, lunch, dinner, room service, functions, and buffet in line with established recipes and quality standards.
• Ensure a clean, hygienic, and well-organised workspace, oversee stock rotation, reduce waste, and maintain equipment in good working order.
• Efficiently run an assigned section, support apprentices and junior team members, and assist the Chef on duty when needed.
• Monitor daily food and supply requirements, coordinate with supervisors on ordering, and adhere to all food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a hotel or fast-paced kitchen environment
