Village Roadshow Theme Parks is seeking a Demi Chef for the Sea World, Main Beach, Gold Coast kitchen. You will help deliver high-quality dishes across venues while upholding food safety and presentation standards to enhance guest dining experiences.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience as a Demi Chef.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Excellent time management and delegation.
• Solid understanding of food hygiene and safety.

Responsibilities

• Work effectively within a team to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Apply and monitor food safety procedures.
• Report issues affecting kitchen operations to the Chef de Partie.
• Maintain portion control, quality, and a clean work area.
• Respect meal times and ensure fast, efficient service.
• Acknowledge guest dietary needs and requests.
• Support and mentor team members to uphold standards.
• Liaise with Events Manager as required.
• Keep up with market trends in menus and food offerings.

The Opportunity

Whether you're plating up for a crowd or crafting something special behind the scenes, your skills will help shape unforgettable dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Work effectively within a team environment to provide excellent internal service and to promote a positive working environment
• Apply and monitor food safety procedures to ensure all menu items are prepared and served in line with food safety standards
• Report any issues that may affect kitchen operations immediately to the Chef de Partie
• Ensure portion control and food quality while maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work area
• Be aware of meal times and the importance of speed, time, efficiency and presentation of all meals
• Ensure all guest special requests, including dietary needs, are acknowledged
• Monitor and motivate team members to achieve a high standard of service
• Conduct training and assess competency of team member's to assist in team development & mentoring
• Liaise with the Events Manager as & when required.
• Knowledge of market trends relating to food and menus

What We’re Looking For

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant years of experience
• Demonstrated experience working as a Demi Chef
• Effective leadership & communication skills
• Problem solving, time management skills, delegation & guidance.
• Comprehensive understanding of food hygiene and Food Safety program
• Knowledge of customer dietary requirements
• Accredited Food Safety Supervisor an advantage
• Industry experience in high volume kitchen operations an advantage
• Able to work at any Village Roadshow Theme Park property as required
