Village Roadshow Theme Parks is seeking a Demi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team at Sea World, Main Beach, Gold Coast. You will craft high-quality dishes across multiple venues, uphold food safety standards, and contribute to a fast-paced, guest-focused kitchen environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, training, and maintaining impeccable presentation and portion control while accommodating dietary requirements.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
• Experience as a Demi Chef
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Good time management and delegation
• Solid food hygiene knowledge
• Knowledge of dietary requirements
• Food Safety Supervisor accreditation is an advantage
• Experience in high-volume kitchen operations
• Able to work at any Village Roadshow Theme Park property

Responsibilities

• Work in a team to provide high-quality dishes across venues
• Apply and monitor food safety standards
• Report issues to the Chef de Partie
• Ensure portions and maintain clean, safe work area
• Maintain speed, time, efficiency and presentation of meals
• Acknowledge guest dietary requests
• Mentor and train team members
• Liaise with Events Manager when required
• Keep up with market trends in food and menus

The Opportunity

This role is perfect for a chef who thrives on variety, takes pride in their craft, and is committed to maintaining the highest standards of food preparation, safety, and presentation.

Whether you're plating up for a crowd or crafting something special behind the scenes, your skills will help shape unforgettable dining experiences for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Work effectively within a team environment to provide excellent internal service and to promote a positive working environment
• Apply and monitor food safety procedures to ensure all menu items are prepared and served in line with food safety standards
• Report any issues that may affect kitchen operations immediately to the Chef de Partie
• Ensure portion control and food quality while maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic work area
• Be aware of meal times and the importance of speed, time, efficiency and presentation of all meals
• Ensure all guest special requests, including dietary needs, are acknowledged
• Monitor and motivate team members to achieve a high standard of service
• Conduct training and assess competency of team member’s to assist in team development & mentoring
• Liaise with the Events Manager as & when required.
• Knowledge of market trends relating to food and menus

What We’re Looking For

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant years of experience
• Demonstrated experience working as a Demi Chef
• Effective leadership & communication skills
• Problem solving, time management skills, delegation & guidance.
• Comprehensive understanding of food hygiene and Food Safety program
• Knowledge of customer dietary requirements
• Accredited Food Safety Supervisor an advantage
• Industry experience in high volume kitchen operations an advantage
• Able to work at any Village Roadshow Theme Park property as required
