Job summary

Ampol Limited is seeking a Delivery Lead to empower the Data Platforms team, combining end-to-end delivery leadership with a hands-on Scrum Master remit. You will align priorities with engineering, data and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable data capabilities.

You will master Snowflake and Databricks, manage backlogs and roadmaps, and drive reliable data solutions that power decision making across Ampol. This hybrid role offers competitive remuneration and career growth.

About the role:

The Delivery Lead is accountable for enabling the Data Platforms team to deliver secure,reliableand scalable data capabilities using Snowflake and Databricks. Combining end-to-end delivery leadership with a hands-on Scrum Master remit, the role creates clear plans, healthy backlogs, disciplinedexecutionand transparent reporting while removing impediments and strengthening team ways of working.

The role works closely witha broad range of stakeholders acrossEngineering, Data, and the wider business. The DeliveryLeadconnects platform priorities with downstream demand, balances planned change with operational work, and ensures dependencies, risks and decisions are actively managed.

KeyResponsibilities

• Facilitate sprint planning, stand-ups, refinement,reviewsand retrospectives; coach the team, ProductOwnerand stakeholders in pragmatic Scrum practices, andestablishclear sprint goals, working agreements and definitions of ready/done.
• Remove impediments, protect teamfocusand elevate systemic blockers, use delivery data to refine/improve approach
• Translate roadmaps and stakeholder demand into delivery plans, releases, epics and stories with clear scope, acceptancecriteriaand estimates.Lead quarterly, release,sprintand capacity planning; track milestones and dependencies, and report delivery status to governance forums.
• Own the delivery RAID discipline with clear ownership, duedatesand escalation paths -coordinate dependencies across teams (Data, Reporting, Ops, Cyber Security etc)surface risksearly, beforetheyimpactcommitments.
• Use JIRA as the authoritative source for backlog, sprint,releaseand status information, with well-maintained boards,workflowsand dashboards; use Confluence for decisions,plansand delivery artefacts; ensure traceability betweenobjectives,workand outcomes.
• Buildtechnical understanding of Snowflake, Databricks and the wider data ecosystem to challenge assumptions and inform trade-offs
• Ensure platform work accounts for scalability, reliability, data quality,costand production readiness

Qualifications & Experience

• Proventrack recordas Delivery Lead/Manager or Scrum Master running complex tech/data teams, with strong Scrum practice-facilitation, coaching, backlog management,estimationand continuous improvement.
• Experience managing delivery plans, capacity, risk/issue/dependency tracking, releases and stakeholder expectations, plus shaping epics/features/stories with clear acceptance criteria.
• Advanced JIRA and Confluence skills (boards, workflows, dashboards, reporting, documentation).
• Strong communicationand influencing ability across technical,operationaland business teams; sound judgement and comfort with ambiguity.
• Working knowledge of cloud data platforms (Snowflake/Databricks preferred), data warehousing/lakehouseconcepts, ETL/ELT, batch/streaming pipelines, SQL and Python, enough to engage credibly with engineers and data specialists.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, testing, environment management, monitoring, accesscontrolsand data governance.
