Job summary

Ampol Limited is seeking a Delivery Capacity and Assurance Lead to oversee capacity planning, demand alignment, and independent delivery assurance across Technology, Digital & Data. You will ensure initiatives are resourced, governed, and set up for success, with independent QA of delivery artefacts and gate reviews at milestones.

About the role:

The Delivery Capacity and Assurance Lead oversees capacity planning, demand alignment, and independent delivery assurance across TDD, ensuring initiatives are properly resourced, governed, and set up for success. This role performs independent quality assurance of delivery artefacts and controls and runs assurance checkpoints and gate reviews at key milestones to ensure deliveryremainscontrolled, and risks are understood. It also provides transparency around resource allocation and demand sequencing, enabling informed trade-off decisions, and reduces the risk of over-commitment and delivery failure through proactive capacity management and independent assurance.

KeyResponsibilities

• Conduct independent delivery assurance reviews, gate reviews, and health checks, assessing artefact quality, control fitness, and compliance at key milestones.
• Own and manage TDD's delivery capacity planning process, ensuring demand is realistically aligned and sequenced against available capacity.
• Provide assurance data, capacity insights, and quality findings to supportprioritisationdecisions, PI planning, and portfolio trade-offs.
• Develop andmaintainassurance frameworks, capacity models, and workforce planning tools that give leadership confidence delivery is under control.
• Draw ondata from across delivery toidentifytrends, risks, and capacity constraints, turning insight into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Partner with delivery and platform leaders to flag over-commitment risks early and support realistic, sustainable planning decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Demonstrated experience in delivery assurance, workforce planning, or capacity management within technology delivery environments.
• Strong analytical skills, with experience in capacity modelling and demand-supply balancing using tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of delivery frameworks (SAFe, Agile, PRINCE2) and a clear understanding of how capacity planning integrates with portfolio governance.
• Experience designing or applying assurance frameworks, gate reviews, or quality checkpoints within a delivery environment.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to senior stakeholders in a clear, actionable format.
• Strong attention to detail and independence of judgement, comfortable providing objective assessments that may challenge delivery teams' own views.
