Job summary

Telstra is seeking a UC Technical Expert to support Unified Communications and Video Teleconferencing across a complex defence‑oriented environment. You will work with Poly, Pexip, Cisco and Microsoft collaboration tools to maintain service stability and continuous improvement.

The role requires hands‑on UC experience, Windows Server and VMware knowledge, and active NV1 clearance. Based options include Canberra, Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane with strong incident management skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Systems Administrator, Network Engineer, UC Engineer or similar in a complex ICT environment.
• Hands‑on experience supporting UC, Video Conferencing or enterprise collaboration tech.
• Knowledge of Windows Server OS and VMware familiarity.
• Experience using Jira and Confluence in operational or technical support.
• Exposure to F5 networking infrastructure.
• Strong incident management and customer support skills.
• Experience in Defence or secure, large‑scale enterprise ICT is highly desirable.
• ITIL Foundation or Practitioner certification is preferred.
• Experience with Poly RealPresence, Pexip, Microsoft Skype for Business, Cisco CMM/TMS, AMX RMS or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational support for UC and Video Teleconferencing environments.
• Monitor, diagnose and resolve incidents to meet service levels.
• Maintain and support collaboration platforms and related infrastructure.
• Investigate complex issues and implement permanent fixes.
• Manage service requests and escalations with clear stakeholder communication.
• Support readiness activities when new services transition to BAU.
• Maintain accurate system records and knowledge articles.
• Collaborate with Defence, Engineering and Service Delivery teams to improve performance.
