Job summary

Ventia is seeking an Assistant Shuttle Bus Driver to support Defence transport services in Australia. The role starts on a flexible, on-call basis with roughly 15 hours per week across three days, expanding to full-time hours from November for a maternity leave period.

Responsibilities include transporting Defence personnel, vehicle movements, upkeep of fleet presentation, and completing documentation. The role requires a current Class C licence, safety focus, and ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Current Australian Driver Licence (Class C)
• Driver Accreditation or ability to obtain it before commencement
• Experience in transport, logistics, fleet services, bus operations or similar
• Strong safety awareness and ability to follow procedures
• Good communication and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Flexibility to work casual/on-call hours and increased hours from November

Responsibilities

• Assist with transportation of Defence personnel to appointments and designated locations (from November)
• Support daily transport operations and vehicle movements
• Drive Defence fleet vehicles as required
• Prepare vehicles for use by maintaining presentation and cleanliness standards
• Transport vehicles to and from servicing, repairs and maintenance appointments
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and operational checks
• Assist with minor vehicle maintenance activities
• Complete mail collection, sorting, and delivery between Defence locations
• Maintain transport records and complete required documentation
• Follow all safety procedures and report hazards or incidents promptly
