Job summary

Downer is seeking a Financial Management Officer to support the delivery of one of the Major Joint Projects. Working within a small, high-performing project team, you will play a critical role in supporting financial planning, budget management, reporting, and procurement across a project valued at more than $100 million.

This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the delivery of enhanced Defence capability while working closely with project leadership and key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in budgetary management and financial administration.
• Experience preparing financial reports, submissions and financial documentation.
• Ability to work in a collaborative team while showing initiative and autonomy.
• Strong written and verbal communication with stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in government finance or CASG project environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support financial performance reporting and project governance activities.
• Assist with long-term and short-term budget planning across a project portfolio >$100M.
• Maintain and update financial management records aligned with schedules.
• Support and coordinate major project payments and financial transactions.
• Prepare financial documentation per organisational policies and governance.
• Contribute to procurement and purchasing activities for project delivery.
