Job summary

Saab Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a Procurement Officer to support end-to-end procurement for defence and complex projects in Australia. The role collaborates with project teams, suppliers and stakeholders to deliver value-for-money outcomes and compliant procurement processes.

The successful candidate will contribute to governance, supplier management and continuous improvement, while adapting to hybrid work arrangements in a dynamic defence environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting procurement in defence or complex projects.
• Understanding of Australian contract law and commercial contracting.
• Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing relationships.
• Experience issuing purchase orders, subcontracts and supplier agreements.
• Knowledge of ASDEFCON and Australian Defence procurement frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end procurement across complex projects and programs.
• Develop and implement procurement plans and sourcing strategies.
• Undertake market analysis, tender evaluations and supplier selection.
• Negotiate and administer supplier agreements, contracts and purchase orders.
• Provide procurement advice to project teams and key stakeholders.
• Manage supplier relationships and support supplier performance outcomes.
• Contribute to procurement governance, compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
