Job summary

Ventia, working proudly alongside the Australian Defence Force, is seeking a Commis Chef to join our culinary team at HMAS Cerberus. You will support Head Chefs, prepare meals, and help keep the kitchen safe, clean and efficient.

Based at HMAS Cerberus, you’ll contribute to meal service for regular operations and field requirements, while guiding Kitchen Hands. A Cert III in Commercial Cookery and 2+ years in a large kitchen are required.

Qualifications

• Certified cook with recognised training and food safety knowledge.
• Ability to work in large, busy kitchen environments.
• Demonstrated commitment to hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Chefs and kitchen team to prepare meals for regular, field and in-flight rations.
• Ensure kitchen runs safely, food is handled hygienically, and dining area stays clean.
• Supervise Kitchen Hands, operate commercial kitchen equipment and maintain records.
