Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Technical Delivery Lead Architect (Director) for a major Defence program in Canberra. The role is a permanent, hybrid position leading architecture and delivery across a large-scale enterprise ecosystem, ensuring integration, security and data governance.

You will collaborate with executives, vendors and delivery teams to define strategy, govern solutions, and oversee multi-workstream delivery while maintaining architectural integrity and compliance with Defence requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years' experience in enterprise ICT environments with architecture and delivery leadership responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale enterprise transformation programs.
• Strong Enterprise Architecture and solution design experience across complex environments.
• Expertise designing integrated SaaS, cloud and hybrid technology ecosystems.
• Deep understanding of Azure services, cloud architecture and platform foundations.
• Experience designing secure, scalable and highly available enterprise solutions.
• Strong understanding of data architecture, governance and system-of-record principles.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams, vendors and large stakeholder groups.
• Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive and non-technical audiences.
• Strong experience managing technical interdependencies, risks and program delivery outcomes.
• Experience with business process orchestration, integration architecture and modern application delivery approaches.
• Strong understanding of security-by-design principles and enterprise governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and governance of enterprise and solution architectures across the program.
• Define scalable, secure and resilient technology solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Manage end-to-end technical delivery across multiple projects and vendor teams.
• Oversee technical dependencies, integration roadmaps and delivery sequencing.
• Ensure architecture and delivery outcomes align with agreed program objectives and standards.
• Provide strategic guidance on software engineering, cloud platforms and solution design.
• Establish and maintain data governance, quality and security frameworks.
• Identify and manage technical risks, issues and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with executive stakeholders, business leaders and delivery teams.
• Ensure compliance with Defence security, regulatory and information assurance requirements.
• Drive successful delivery of business capabilities through phased implementation approaches.
• Maintain accountability for technical integrity, quality, cost and delivery outcomes.
