Job summary

Serco is seeking a Contract Manager – Defence Marine Support Services (DMSS) to lead the operational delivery for the Royal Australian Navy contract. Based at Garden Island, Sydney, you will ensure safe, compliant service delivery and manage performance against contractual commitments.

You will direct diverse teams, maintain strong customer relationships, control budgets and KPIs, and drive continuous improvement across the contract.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience leading the operational delivery of complex services contracts or large-scale operations.
• Strong leadership with accountability for people, performance and customer outcomes.
• Experience managing against contractual KPIs, service levels and performance requirements.
• Commercial and financial acumen, including budgets, cost performance and P&L where applicable.
• Proven ability to build trusted relationships with senior customers and stakeholders.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in complex, regulated environments.
• Solid governance, risk, compliance and operational performance knowledge.
• Ability to balance strategic priorities with day-to-day service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operational delivery and overall performance of the DMSS contract.
• Take accountability for service delivery, contract KPIs, financial performance and customer outcomes.
• Provide leadership and direction to operational teams across the contract.
• Build trusted relationships with Defence customers and key stakeholders.
• Ensure services meet contractual, regulatory, safety, quality and governance requirements.
• Monitor operational and financial performance and take action where required.
• Manage workforce requirements, priorities and resources to support service delivery.
• Identify and manage operational, contractual and commercial risks.
• Drive continuous improvement and opportunities to improve service performance.
• Collaborate with Finance, HR, Safety, Quality and Commercial teams.
