Job summary

Australian Department of Defence – Richmond NSW seeks an experienced Contract Officer to lead contract administration, procurement support and governance across Defence programs. You will manage change proposals, amendments, performance monitoring and commercial risk, while engaging with industry and legal advisers to resolve complex issues.

The role is based on-site in Western Sydney with flexible arrangements for Defence colleagues; BDCP remuneration applies.

Qualifications

• Experience in contract management, procurement and commercial or related business functions within a complex operating environment.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking to assess information and provide well-reasoned advice.
• Ability to build and sustain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage contract administration activities across lifecycle including change proposals and amendments.
• Monitor contractor performance and governance compliance against obligations.
• Provide advice on contract interpretation, procurement policy and commercial risk.
• Manage IP, technical data and export control obligations related to Defence contracts.
• Prepare commercial correspondence, submissions and contract management documentation.
• Collaborate with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and legal advisers to resolve complex issues.
• Support contract governance activities, reviews and assurance processes.
• Build and sustain productive relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
