Job summary

The Department of Defence is seeking an experienced Contract Officer to contribute to a broad range of commercial activities, including contract administration, procurement support, export controls and IP management. The role requires engagement with Defence stakeholders and industry partners to resolve complex contractual issues and achieve capability outcomes.

This position is based at RAAF Richmond with on-site work and a controlled remote setup.

Qualifications

Experience in contract management, procurement and commercial or related business functions within a complex operating environment.
Ability to interpret legislation, policy and procedures to support sound decision-making and business outcomes.
Strong analytical and communication skills and reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

Manage contract administration activities across lifecycle, including change proposals, deeds and amendments.
Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and governance requirements.
Provide advice on contract interpretation, procurement policy and commercial risk management.
Oversee IP, data and export control obligations in Defence contracts.
Prepare commercial correspondence, submissions and contract management documentation.
Collaborate with Defence stakeholders, industry partners and legal advisers to resolve contractual issues.
Support contract governance activities, reviews and assurance processes to ensure value for money.
