Job summary

Mater Hospital Sydney is seeking a Day Surgery Centre Ward Clerk to provide administrative support within the busy admissions area and act as a key contact for patients, staff and stakeholders. This full-time position involves coordinating patient records, admissions and related duties across the hospital.

You will join the Patient Services team in North Sydney, contribute to a positive patient experience, and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and service

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical terminology course (desirable).
• Previous experience in a hospital or medical environment (desirable).
• Outstanding customer service and patient care.
• Experience with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Professional manner and alignment with values.
• Able to work in a busy environment and report hazards/ incidents.
• Willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the healthcare team in a busy nursing admissions area.
• Be a key contact for patients, staff and stakeholders with strong communication.
• Assist with patient admission, discharge, theatre bookings, reception and switchboard duties.
