Job summary

The Ward Clerk role at The Mater hospital, part of St Vincent’s Health Australia, is a full-time, permanent position in the Day Surgery Centre within Patient Services. You will assist in admissions, manage patient records and liaise with patients, staff and external stakeholders to ensure smooth operations.

Strong communication, attention to detail and teamwork are essential. Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook is expected; previous hospital experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Completion of a medical terminology course (desirable).
• Previous experience in a hospital or medical environment (desirable).
• Outstanding customer service and professional manner in line with values.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support in the nursing admissions area.
• Act as a key contact for patients, staff and stakeholders; manage patient records.
• Assist with patient admission/discharge, theatre bookings, reception and switchboard duties.
