Randstad is currently working with a mining sector client to find a Data Solutions Lead on an initial 6 month contract with potential of extension. This role is based in Brisbane CBD with WFH flexibility.

Role Overview:

Are you an experienced Technical/Solutions Lead looking to drive high-impact data transformation and advanced analytics initiatives? We are seeking a Data Solutions Lead to shape and deliver a key simulation acceleration project. In this role, you will lead the optimisation of simulation outputs into Snowflake, improve dashboard performance, and explore cutting-edge GenAI-enabled analytics using Snowflake Cortex.

What You Will Do:

• Define optimal data output and reporting structures to seamlessly integrate AnyLogic simulation outputs into Snowflake.
• Analyse dashboard performance improvement opportunities, leading feasibility assessments and effort estimations to finalise delivery scope.
• Lead hands‑on technical delivery throughout the implementation of the selected scope and oversee engineering solutions.
• Design and execute a pilot project for a GenAI-driven Snowflake Cortex application for designated datasets and models.
• Provide GenAI SME support, assist with innovation hackathons, and create comprehensive documentation for ongoing support and handover.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

• Proven technical leadership experience in scoping, architecting, and delivering enterprise data engineering solutions.
• Strong expertise in enterprise cloud database platforms, with a strong preference for Snowflake.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for data transformation and manipulation, including experience with libraries like pandas.
• Demonstrated hands‑on experience with advanced analytics and GenAI technologies such as Amazon Bedrock or Amazon SageMaker.
• Familiarity with building Streamlit applications and leveraging Snowflake Cortex capabilities is highly desirable.
• Mining sector or heavy industries sector experience.
