Job summary

Marlin Human Capital is partnering with a leading Australian energy infrastructure organisation to shape a Microsoft Fabric data-platform from design through build. You will provide independent architectural judgement, challenge designs, and guide governance to ensure a secure, scalable, production-ready platform.

A senior data architect with Fabric experience is required to lead reviews and stakeholder alignment.

Qualifications

• Senior data architect with substantial Microsoft Fabric implementation experience.
• Experience across two or more Fabric deployments is preferred.
• Knowledge of Fabric tenant/workspace design, capacity, security and deployment constraints.
• Familiarity with medallion architecture, lakehouse and warehouse patterns, data products and lineage.

Data Solution Architect – Microsoft Fabric

We are partnering with a leading Australian energy infrastructure organisation accelerating a strategically important Microsoft Fabric data-platform programme.

This is an opportunity to provide independent architecture assurance at a critical stage of delivery—helping shape a secure, scalable and production-ready platform as the programme moves from design into build.

The Opportunity

You will work alongside delivery partners, platform owners and senior stakeholders to review, challenge and guide Microsoft Fabric designs through governance and approval.

The vendor remains responsible for detailed design. Your role is to bring the technical judgement and enterprise perspective needed to identify gaps, address practical Fabric constraints and secure stakeholder agreement without compromising quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently review and assure vendor-produced Microsoft Fabric architecture and design documentation.
• Assess platform designs across capacity, workspaces, OneLake, security, deployment and operational readiness.
• Review data architecture, integration, quality and lineage, alongside scalability, resilience and cost management.
• Identify platform limitations and design risks, providing practical recommendations for governance endorsement.

About You

You are a senior data architect with substantial, recent Microsoft Fabric implementation experience—not simply broad data-platform exposure. You understand its practical constraints and can confidently challenge enterprise design decisions.

• You bring enterprise-scale, greenfield Fabric experience, ideally across two or more implementations.
• You understand Fabric tenant and workspace design, capacity, security, deployment constraints and preview-feature risks.
• You have strong knowledge of medallion architecture, lakehouse and warehouse patterns, data products, quality and lineage.
• You confidently review HLDs and LLDs, navigate architecture governance and build agreement across vendors and stakeholders.

Experience migrating legacy data platforms to Fabric is highly regarded. Microsoft Purview exposure is advantageous, but not essential.
