Job summary

EatClub is hiring a Data Platform Engineer to own ingestion pipelines, orchestration, governance, and cost/performance for our analytics platform. You will work under an AI-first approach, leveraging Claude Code and modern tooling to move data quickly and safely.

You will collaborate with analytics and data science teams building models and dashboards that rely on robust pipelines and scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Solid experience writing and optimising SQL for commercial-scale products.
• Strong Python programming skills.
• Experience building and operating production data pipelines on a cloud data platform.
• Experience with orchestration and scheduling (Databricks Workflows, Airflow, Dagster).
• Experience with internal APIs and third-party tools to ingest data with data integrity.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, trunk-based development and tests.
• Familiarity with an AI-first working style: Claude Code, agentic workflows, AI in daily loop.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate ingestion into the bronze layer – new source integrations, CDC feeds and third-party APIs.
• Own orchestration workflows: scheduling, dependencies, retries, alerting, and SLAs.
• Harden CI/CD with trunk-based development, PR checks and tests that gate deploys.
• Govern the platform: grants, lineage, tagging, row/column security, external sharing.
• Own cost and performance: tune warehouses/clusters, partitioning and incremental strategies.
• Build data quality and observability into the platform with checks and alerting.
• Make the platform self-serve for analysts and data scientists.
