Job summary

EatClub is building the data platform powering real‑time analytics and decision making across hospitality partners. We’re hiring a senior Data Platform Engineer to own ingestion, orchestration, governance, and cost/performance for our analytics lakehouse.

You’ll work with AI tooling and a fast-paced team to ship data products daily in a data-first culture. You’ll collaborate with analytics and data science teams, leverage Databricks and dbt, and influence data quality, security, and

Qualifications

• Solid experience writing and optimising SQL for commercial-scale products.
• Strong Python development for data platforms.
• Hands-on experience building and operating production data pipelines on a cloud data platform.
• Experience with orchestration and scheduling (Databricks Workflows, Airflow, Dagster).
• Experience working with internal APIs and third-party tools to ingest data with data integrity.
• Strong software engineering practices (Git, CI/CD, trunk-based development, tests).
• Familiarity with an AI-first working style: Claude Code, agentic workflows, AI in daily loop.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate ingestion into the bronze layer with new source integrations and CDC feeds.
• Own orchestration workflows: scheduling, dependencies, retries, alerting, and SLAs.
• Harden CI/CD: trunk-based development, PR checks, tests, and environment promotions.
• Govern the platform: grants, lineage, tagging, security, and data sharing with partners.
• Own cost and performance tuning: warehouse sizing, partitioning, clustering, and cost controls.
• Build data quality and observability: freshness, checks, alerting, root-cause tooling.
• Make the platform self-serve for analysts and data scientists.
