Job summary

EatClub is hiring a Data Platform Engineer in Sydney to own ingestion and orchestration for analytics. You will build scalable data pipelines, govern data movement, and optimize cloud compute and storage costs while collaborating with data science teams.

You’ll operate in an AI-first environment, leverage Databricks and dbt Core, and help ship real dashboards and data products weekly. Join a scaleup shaping hospitality tech.

Qualifications

Proven ability to write and optimise SQL for large-scale analytics.
Experience building production data pipelines on cloud platforms.
Familiar with orchestration: Databricks Workflows, Airflow or Dagster.
Strong software engineering practices: Git, CI/CD, tests.
Comfort with an AI-first workflow and collaboration with analytics teams.

Responsibilities

Build and operate ingestion into the bronze layer, with new data sources and reliable replay.
Own orchestration workflows, scheduling, retries and data quality SLAs.
Harden CI/CD and promote changes safely across environments.
Govern the platform with lineage, security and partner data sharing.
Optimize cost and performance of warehouses and compute.
Add data quality and observability into the platform with alerts.
Make the platform self-serve for analysts and data scientists.
