EY is seeking a Workday Test Lead for a hybrid role in Sydney. You will lead testing across Core HCM, Recruitment and Onboarding, writing and executing tests while coordinating SIT and UAT with HR and the implementation partner.
You will influence test strategy, build scenarios, and report progress to programme leadership. This role suits someone who thrives in a large corporate setting and wants to grow into broader test management as the project progresses.
About the company
A large ASX-listed healthcare organisation partway through a major Workday transformation of its HR systems. Phase one covers Core HCM, Recruitment and Onboarding, and more modules are planned after go-live. The programme has strong leadership behind it and takes testing seriously.
About the role
You'll lead testing on the Workday implementation. This is a hands‑on role, so you'll write and execute tests yourself as well as run the test effort. You'll work closely with programme leadership, HR process owners and the implementation partner across functional, integration and end‑to‑end testing. There's scope to grow into test management as the programme moves into later phases.
Duties / Key responsibilities
Who you are
You know Workday well enough to test it properly. You understand how business processes, condition rules and security behave, and where a configuration change is likely to break something downstream.
You're still happy in the detail. Leading the test effort doesn't mean stepping back from the work, and you would rather run a test yourself than wait on someone else.
You're comfortable in a large organisation where decisions involve more than one group. You can get busy HR people to commit to UAT and keep an implementation partner honest on defects.
You raise risk early and plainly. If coverage is thin or a timeline doesn't stack up, you say so and bring a plan with it.
