Job summary

Youturn in Australia seeks a highly analytical Data, Evaluation & Insights Lead to guide how we measure impact across programs. Reporting to the Chief Strategy & Impact Officer, you'll shape data-driven decisions, evaluations, and learning that strengthen services for communities.

You will design evaluation frameworks, translate quantitative and qualitative evidence into practical recommendations, build dashboards (Power BI), and communicate insights to executives, boards and funders.

Qualifications

• Experience in data analytics, evaluation, BI, social research, statistics or related discipline.
• Advanced quantitative analysis skills with large, complex datasets.
• Experience in qualitative data collection and thematic analysis.
• Ability to translate data into insights, recommendations and strategic narratives.
• Proven capability designing and delivering evaluation frameworks and projects.
• Experience developing dashboards and executive reporting, including Power BI.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Not-for-profit or social-impact sector experience is valued.

About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Strategy & Impact Officer, you will lead Youturn's approach to data analysis, evaluation, reporting and insight generation. You'll work across diverse programs and services to strengthen our understanding of impact, support evidence-based decision making, and help demonstrate the difference our work makes in communities.

You'll lead and contribute to evaluation projects across Youturn, working with teams to develop meaningful evaluation approaches, analyse quantitative and qualitative evidence, and translate findings into practical recommendations that strengthen service delivery and organisational impact.

This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working with complex datasets, designing and delivering evaluations, translating quantitative and qualitative evidence into meaningful insights, and partnering with leaders to drive strategic improvement.

What You'll Be Doing

Lead Data-Informed Decision Making

• Analyse complex quantitative and qualitative datasets to identify trends, patterns and emerging opportunities.
• Translate data into actionable insights that support strategic and operational decision making.
• Provide analysis and recommendations to executives and senior leaders.

Drive Evaluation Excellence

• Design and implement robust monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks.
• Lead end-to-end program and service evaluations using mixed-method approaches.
• Ensure findings are practical, meaningful and embedded into organisational learning and improvement.

Deliver High-Impact Reporting

• Develop dashboards, visualisations and reports that communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
• Support executive, board and funding body reporting requirements.
• Produce compelling impact reports that combine data, evidence and storytelling.

Strengthen Data Quality and Governance

• Support organisation-wide data governance and reporting standards.
• Improve the integrity, consistency and usability of organisational data.
• Contribute to data quality processes and reporting frameworks.

Impact

• Support the Impact, Evidence & Research Lead in the design and implementation of Youturn’s social impact framework and outcome measurement.
• Work closely with operational, quality and data teams to improve the consistency, usefulness and accessibility of Youturn’s data and support the organisation to demonstrate and enhance its impact.

About You

You're a curious and commercially minded data and evaluation professional who combines strong analytical capability with a passion for creating positive social outcomes.

You’ll Bring

• Experience in data analytics, evaluation, business intelligence, social research, statistics or a related discipline.
• Advanced quantitative analysis skills and confidence working with large and complex datasets.
• Experience in qualitative data collection and thematic analysis.
• Strong experience translating data into meaningful insights, recommendations and strategic narratives.
• Demonstrated capability in designing and delivering evaluation frameworks and projects.
• Experience developing dashboards, data visualisations and executive-level reporting, including experience with Power BI or a similar business intelligence platform.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to influence decision-making through evidence.

Experience within the not-for-profit, community services, health or social impact sectors will be highly regarded.
