Mareeba Shire Council is seeking a Transport Asset Officer to support roads and drainage infrastructure projects.” You will help develop renewal programs, inspect assets, collect data, and prepare reports to guide capital works planning. The role emphasizes problem solving, data analysis and collaboration with stakeholders.

Ideal candidates will have Civil/Engineering qualifications, knowledge of asset management and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Local government infra knowledge, esp. transport and drainage.
• Proactive problem-solver with continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience with asset management, maintenance and traffic management practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise and collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain transport renewal programs.
• Manage and analyse asset registers.
• Conduct inspections and data collection on transport assets.
• Engage with stakeholders and prepare technical reports guiding capital works planning.
• Ensure compliance with Council standards and improve transport infrastructure.
