Job summary

Department of Education & Training, Victoria is seeking qualified classroom teachers to deliver engaging learning programs, plan effective lessons and monitor student outcomes. The role involves collaboration with families and the wider school community to support student wellbeing and achievement.

Candidates will contribute to school improvement, mentor less experienced staff where appropriate, and participate in school activities and governance as required.

Qualifications

• SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including literacy and numeracy skills, and responding to student learning needs.
• SC2: Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student growth.
• SC3: Ability to monitor and assess student learning and use data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the school community.
• SC5: Behaviours and attitudes aligned with Department values; commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals and delivery of planned programs.
• Contribute to curriculum development and evaluation within the school.
• Undertake other teaching-related and organizational duties as directed by the principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Engage in non-teaching supervisory duties as required.
