Data Conversion Analyst - Workday Implementation

As part of an uplift to our corporate systems, we are implementing Workday across our People, Payroll, and Finance operations. We are looking for a Data Conversion Analyst on a 12-month maximum term contract to conduct data analysis and mapping, ensuring an accurate and complete data conversion from legacy systems to Workday.

The Data Conversion Analyst will develop the data conversion strategy, scope, and timelines in alignment with the project plan.

Responsibilities

• Conduct data analysis and mapping to ensure an accurate and complete data conversion from legacy systems to Workday.
• Develop data conversion specifications (including mapping tables, transformation logic, etc.) that document the end-to-end ETL process and represent best-practice data conversion approaches.
• Develop code and tooling configurations required to deliver the ETL for the data conversion.
• Develop data cleansing and validation processes (including Workday and legacy system reports) and documentation (load tracking and reconciliation) and sign them off with business SMEs and the ETS Data Services team.
• Work closely with the ETS Data Services team and business system admins on legacy data extraction, the ETL process, and data validation.
• Execute multiple trial data conversions and loads, running data cleansing and validation processes for each trial.
• Update data conversion specifications and modify the ETL code after each trial conversion to improve accuracy of converted data.
• Actively support each stage of the testing process.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a data conversion analyst on complex technology projects in HR and Finance domains.
• Experience operating in smaller organisations with hands-on responsibility for planning and delivery.
• Knowledge of data conversion and data quality principles, approaches, methodologies, and tools.
• Experience planning, documenting and delivering data conversion and data quality activities in ERP projects.
• Strong SQL data analysis, data modeling, and experience with ETL tools (especially TM1) and scripting languages like Python.
• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools for managing and integrating data sources.
• Ability to analyze complex datasets, identify patterns, and solve data accuracy problems.
• Familiarity with legacy HRIS, Payroll, and financial systems and their data structures.
• Experience delivering data conversions for Workday implementations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
