Job summary

NEXTDC is seeking a data centre technician to join the facilities team in Macquarie Park, Sydney. This entry-level, 24/7 role provides on-the-job training across cooling, electrical, cabling, building monitoring and fire systems.

You will support day-to-day operations, handle vendor coordination, Remote Hands requests, and ensure safety and policy adherence for visitors and contractors. The position includes rotating 4–5–5 shifts with day and night coverage to support our fast-growing data

Qualifications

• Customer service and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of data centres and cabling.
• Interest in telecommunications and problem solving.
• TAFE Cert in Telecommunications desirable.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of cabling needs, electrical and data to customer racks and areas.
• Attend to Remote Hands requests.
• Assist with vendor management for maintenance of core electrical and mechanical systems.
• Identify and resolve facility problems in a timely manner.
• Monitor building management systems 24/7 and escalate issues as needed.
• Ensure visitors and contractors adhere to NEXTDC facility rules.
