Job summary

Viasat is seeking a Data Center Technician to own the physical footprint within multi-tenant colocation facilities. This role maintains 100% asset accuracy, manages cabling and airflow, and coordinates with facility providers while updating the DCIM Digital Twin.

You will lead site-related activities, map end-to-end cable paths, monitor power per rack, and supervise Remote Hands with vendors, ensuring adherence to EHS and security standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in data center operations.
• Experience with Patch Manager, NetBox or similar DCIM tools.
• Knowledge of cabling standards and data center best practices.
• Ability to travel locally as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain 100% asset accuracy in the Cage and DCIM records.
• Ensure airflow integrity and adherence to cabling standards.
• Coordinate site activities with colocation facility providers.
• Map and document end-to-end cable paths and handle moves/adds/changes.
