Job summary

Reboot Monkey seeks an experienced Data Center Technician for on-site contract work in Wakefield. You’ll install, rack, cable, and maintain mission-critical hardware in modern data centers, collaborating with NOC and client teams.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years of data center or IT infra experience, strong cabling skills, and solid English communication. Relevant certifications (CDCP/CDCS, CCNA, Net+) are preferred, and you should be able to lift 50 lbs and travel to sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years data center or IT infrastructure experience.
• Strong cabling skills (Cat5e/6/6a, single-mode/multi-mode fiber).
• Professional communication in English.
• Own transportation and ability to work on-site.
• Data center or network certifications preferred (CDCP/CDCS, CCNA, CompTIA Network+).
• Experience with DCIM and ticketing systems preferred.
• Familiarity with major colocation providers preferred.
• Experience with server hardware (Dell, HP, Supermicro).

Responsibilities

• Perform hardware installations, decommissions, and migrations.
• Execute structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Conduct server racking, stacking, and labeling.
• Perform cross-connects and patch panel work.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and hardware issues.
• Document all work with photos and detailed notes.
• Coordinate with remote NOC and client teams.
• Familiar with 50 lb lifting and raised floors.
