Job summary

Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Data Center Operations Engineer to help maintain and optimize AWS data center facilities. You will work within a cross-functional team to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency of critical infrastructure.

The role involves maintenance planning, on-site management of contractors, capacity optimization, and collaboration with regional teams to scale facilities while controlling costs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of data center engineering experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks all day.

Responsibilities

• Undertake and support management of routine maintenance and emergencies for critical systems.
• Install new rack capacity and provisioning of power/cooling.
• On-site management of contractors and vendors in line with procedures.
• Establish performance benchmarks and prepare reports for facility infrastructure operations.
• Create change management and incident tickets for facility events (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Collaborate with data center IT managers to coordinate day-to-day operations and capacity.
