Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Melbourne seeks an Engineering Operations Technician to support and maintain our data center infrastructure, ensuring reliability across power, cooling and monitoring systems.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent diploma required.
• 2+ years of electrical or mechanical experience.
• 2+ years of data center or mission critical facilities experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage routine maintenance and emergencies for critical systems (switchgear, generators, UPS, chillers, cooling, HVAC, fire systems).
• Install new rack capacity and provision power and cooling.
• On-site management of contractors and vendors, ensuring compliance with processes and local laws.
• Set performance benchmarks, analyze data, and document facility operations and assets.
• Create change and incident tickets for mechanical/electrical/plumbing events; assist resolutions.
• Collaborate with DC IT managers to coordinate daily operations, capacity, safety and reliability.
• Lead projects to increase capacity, efficiency, sustainability, and support new data center builds.
