Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Licensed Electrician for critical infrastructure facilities in Melbourne. The role focuses on 24x7 data centre operations, maintenance, and documentation to maximize uptime and compliance.

You will coordinate contractors, ensure safety, and drive adherence to MOPs, SOPs, EOPs, and maintenance standards. You will work with BMS, CMMS, and DCIM systems, reporting to the Facilities Lead/Senior Engineer, and contribute to energy efficiency and performance metrics

Qualifications

• Australian citizen eligible for NV1 security clearance
• Trade license, certification, or equivalent in electrical or mechanical facilities
• Preferably 3+ years of experience supporting 24x7 data centre operations
• Strong knowledge of critical systems including switchgear, transformers, UPS, generators, PDUs, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, fire detection and suppression, and BMS controls
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause investigation skills
• Effective communication and stakeholder management with clients, internal teams, contractors and service providers
• Proficiency with CMMS, DCIM, BMS, and Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities

• Execute and coordinate 24x7 data centre operations to support uptime, compliance and SLA requirements
• Maintain electrical and mechanical infrastructure per manufacturer specs and industry best practices
• Manage contractors and vendors to ensure safe, efficient work with quality outcomes
• Develop and audit MOPs, SOPs, EOPs and operational sequences interfacing with BMS/DCIM/CMMS
• Conduct inspections, rounds, and root-cause analyses; support reporting on performance and power quality
• Promote OH&S compliance, permit-to-work controls, risk assessments, and incident reporting
