Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Hobart, IN is seeking a Data Center Controls Technician to deploy, service, and upgrade Building Management and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems across multiple data centers.

You will mentor the Facilities team, manage projects, perform wiring checks, and diagnose control software and hardware issues to maintain mission-critical uptime. The role requires experience with industrial controls, low voltage systems, and the ability to work non-standard hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4+ years of relevant industrial Controls or HVAC controls experience, or 6+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Strong understanding of industrial controls, meters, devices, sensors, relays, and troubleshooting with standard tools.
• Experience with low voltage controls, wiring, networking signals, electrical and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work non-standard hours and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, service, and upgrade BMS and EPMS systems in data centers.
• Mentor Facilities team members on BMS/EPMS operation.
• Manage small to medium projects and programs.
• Perform point-to-point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
• Diagnose and maintain BMS/EPMS software and hardware.
• Coordinate vendor activities and oversee commissioning/testing.
• Read electrical schematics and control drawings.
• Ensure safety procedures and OSHA-compliant practices.
