Konnexus is seeking an experienced Data Business Analyst to join a major data and technology program in Melbourne. The role focuses on data migration, integration and analysis, requiring strong data discipline to map source-to-target data and define transformation rules across business and technical teams.

You will partner with stakeholders, architects and delivery teams to ensure accurate, secure and fit-for-purpose data solutions within an Agile environment.

We are looking for an experienced Data Business Analyst to join a significant data and technology program within a complex enterprise environment.

Thisrole is heavily focused on data migration, integration and analysis, so we are looking for someone who genuinely understands data and can work across both business and technical teams. You will partner with stakeholders, Business Analysts, Architects and delivery teams to understand requirements, work through complex data movement and help ensure the end solution is accurate, secure and fit for purpose.

A key part of the role will be understanding how data moves between systems, defining source-to-target mappings, transformation rules and data contracts, and supporting the migration and reconciliation of data throughout the program.

What you will be doing:

• Work with business stakeholders to understand and document data, analytics and reporting requirements.
• Analyse data across multiple systems and determine how it needs to be migrated, transformed and integrated.
• Develop clear source-to-target data mappings, transformation rules, data contracts and interface requirements.
• Work closely with Architects, Business Analysts and technical teams on operational data stores and broader data solutions.
• Undertake data analysis, profiling, cleansing, reconciliation and migration activities.
• Identify data quality issues, exceptions and dependencies and work with the relevant teams to resolve them.
• Ensure data integrity, accessibility, integration and security requirements are considered throughout delivery.
• Support the planning, execution and validation of data migration and load activities.
• Provide input into system testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing, including validating data outcomes.
• Engage with operational and customer-facing teams to ensure solutions meet real business and customer requirements.
• Ensure the final solution is practical, resilient, secure and able to operate effectively within the broader technology environment.
• Work within established data analysis frameworks, standards and delivery methodologies.

What we need: -

You will bring at least five years' experience in Data Business Analysis, Data Analysis or a similar role, ideally gained within large, complex technology or transformation programs.

Your background should include strong hands-on experience across:

• Data mapping and source-to-target analysis
• Data modelling and data analysis
• Data profiling and cleansing
• Data migration and reconciliation
• Data contracts and transformation rules
• Exception handling and data quality
• Data Vault 2.0, ERWIN, SQL, Python, Power BI and/or Qlik Sense

You will also need to be comfortable working in an Agile delivery environment, managing competing priorities and taking ownership of your work. Just as importantly, you will be able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and work through complex data problems without needing constant direction.

This would suit someone who is a genuine Data Business Analyst rather than a generalist BA. You will be working across complex data, migration and integration activities where your ability to understand the detail, challenge requirements and translate between business and technical teams will be important.
