Job description

THE ROLE

Applicants should possess strong data analysis skills, and an excellent ability to manipulate data and create effective data visualisations and presentations that facilitate understanding of the implications and significance of what is shown in the data. Applicants should also have strong written skills, an ability to apply big picture strategic thinking to detailed analytical work, sound project management skills, and be highly collaborative. The Data and Performance Analyst role needs to:

  • Undertake key reporting analysis of data relating to service delivery and departmental activity.
  • Possess strong data analysis skills, and an excellent ability to manipulate data using a range of software applications including Excel and Power BI.
  • Distil key information from datasets and apply sound knowledge of departmental programs and services to identify issues of significance and opportunities for improvement.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE

  • Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and, through detailed data analysis and investigation prepare and present detailed reports, identifying trends, risks and issues relating to effective delivery of the department's services.
  • Provide expert advice on the quality, accuracy, and relevance of data, and on appropriate interpretation of data and results.
  • Use and analyse a range of datasets to monitor, review and understand the performance of our services.
