Job summary

Zurich Australia is seeking a Data Analyst to help our General Insurance teams unlock insights that improve customer and business outcomes. You’ll work across the analytics lifecycle, partnering with stakeholders to frame problems, analyse data, and deliver dashboards and recommendations that inform decisions.

You will use SQL, Power BI and cloud-native platforms to generate actionable insights, while upholding governance and data quality.

Qualifications

  • Experience using SQL to extract, transform and analyse data in complex business environments.
  • Strong capability in Power BI, including data visualisation and communicating insights to stakeholders.
  • Experience delivering work across the full analytics lifecycle from problem framing to outcome measurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage directly with stakeholders and influence decision-making through insights.
  • Exposure to Snowflake, dbt or modern cloud-based data platforms will be highly regarded.
  • Experience within insurance, financial services, consulting or similarly complex commercial environments is advantageous.

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business challenges, test assumptions and identify the right analytical approach
  • Prepare, validate and analyse data using SQL, Power BI and other modern analytics platforms
  • Develop dashboards, visualisations and insights that support decision-making and business performance
  • Communicate findings clearly and translate analysis into actionable recommendations
  • Maintain high standards of governance, documentation, data quality and responsible analytics practices

As a Data Analyst within our General Insurance business, you'll play an important role in helping teams make smarter decisions through data. Working across the full analytics lifecycle, you'll partner with stakeholders to uncover business problems, generate meaningful insights and deliver analytics solutions that improve customer and business outcomes.

In order to be successful, you will have the following:
