Job description

Transform Data Into Insights That Make a Difference

Are you a data-driven professional who enjoys turning complex information into meaningful insights?

At CoAct, we are a purpose-driven, not-for-profit organisation committed to creating opportunities and changing lives through employment services and community activation. Through our specialist data and analytics arm, Altivio, we deliver innovative data solutions that empower organisations to make informed decisions and achieve better outcomes.

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work with both internal stakeholders and external clients, delivering impactful reporting, analytics, and business intelligence solutions that drive performance and support strategic decision-making.

About the Role

As a Data Analyst, you will be responsible for extracting, analysing and interpreting data to provide meaningful insights that support operational and strategic outcomes across CoAct, Altivio and our clients.

You will develop reporting solutions, collaborate closely with stakeholders, and help ensure data quality, integrity and accessibility while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Extract, analyse and interpret data to deliver meaningful insights that support business performance and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards and visualisations using SQL and business intelligence tools.
  • Monitor data quality, identify trends, anomalies and issues, and implement appropriate solutions.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and external clients to gather reporting requirements and deliver user-friendly analytical solutions.
  • Provide reporting support, explain insights to stakeholders, and assist users in understanding and applying data.
  • Maintain reporting standards, documentation, data models and governance processes to ensure reliability and consistency.
  • Present findings and reporting solutions to stakeholders, including prospective and existing Altivio clients.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing reporting processes, tools and methodologies.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver value-driven outcomes.
  • Troubleshoot reporting and data issues and support the ongoing enhancement of analytical solutions.
About You

You are an analytical thinker who enjoys solving complex problems and translating data into actionable insights. You are equally comfortable working independently and engaging with stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and communicate findings in a meaningful way.

Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with large and complex datasets.
  • Experience developing dashboards and visualisations using business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, MODE or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality and reporting best practice.
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting solutions.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to present technical information in a clear and user-friendly way.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
  • Experience working with external clients or customer-facing analytical environments will be highly regarded.
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be required to have a suitable home office environment, including:

  • Reliable high-speed internet connectivity.
  • Appropriate equipment and workspace.
  • The capability to download and analyse large datasets efficiently.
  • Capacity to operate multiple business systems simultaneously.

This position will commence under a hybrid working arrangement, with regular attendance required at our Stones Corner office throughout the probation period. This will support onboarding, knowledge transfer, stakeholder engagement and integration with the broader team.

Following successful completion of probation, the role will transition to a fully remote working arrangement, subject to ongoing performance requirements and maintenance of appropriate home office and connectivity standards.

What We Offer
  • Full-time permanent opportunity.
  • Flexible and remote working arrangements.
  • Salary packaging available up to $15,900 per annum (tax-saving benefit)
  • Additional Wellbeing Leave providing up to 13 extra days of paid leave each year.
  • Corporate health insurance discounts.
  • Access to professional development and learning opportunities.
  • The opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that positively impacts communities across Australia.
