Job summary

Altis Consulting in Canberra is seeking a dynamic Managing Consultant to lead Data & Analytics engagements, design high-quality business solutions, and guide projects through the full development lifecycle.

You will mentor junior team members, build robust data pipelines, and translate complex requirements for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The role offers hybrid work, competitive salary, and a culture of continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Experience linking and translating business requirements into Data Warehouse, BI, and Analytics solutions.
• Data integration with diverse sources and tools to extract, transform, and load data.
• Proficiency in data modeling, ingestion, and ETL design.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS or Azure desirable).
• Strong problem solving and communication skills; consulting background.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Data & Analytics projects on time and within scope.
• Design and develop high-quality business and technical solutions.
• Take ownership with autonomy and accountability.
• Translate complex requirements into clear Data & Analytics solutions for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Mentor junior team members and lead project teams.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines and ensure data quality.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Lead and deliver Data & Analytics projects on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards.
• Design and develop high-quality business and technical solutions that improve performance and unlock opportunities for our clients.
• Take ownership of your work, bringing autonomy, accountability, and a solutions-focused mindset.
• Translate complex requirements into clear, effective Data & Analytics solutions for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Stay ahead of industry, technology, and methodology trends to bring fresh thinking to every project.
• Lead small to medium project teams, providing both technical and team leadership.
• Coach and mentor junior team members to help them grow and succeed.
• Build and maintain robust data pipelines, implement data engineering solutions, and ensure data quality and accuracy.
• Contribute to proposals, identify new opportunities, and support Altis' growth.
• Help develop and refine Altis methodologies and project collateral.
  

The Knowledge You Bring

• Experience linking and translating business requirements into Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Analytics solutions
• Data integration with a variety of data sources and tools to extract, transform, and load data
• Good skills in data modelling, data ingestion, and ETL design
• Experience in cloud Technologies (AWS or Microsoft Azure is highly desirable
• Strong problem-solving skills and awareness of industry trends
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A background in consulting and professional services.
• Tertiary qualification in an IT-related subject, or relevant work experience
• 5–7 years of consulting and implementation experience
• 5–7 years broad IT experience
• 5+ years experience of leading data & analytics tools
• 5+ years delivering projects in a client facing environment
• Experience using Data Bricks is essential
