Job summary

Arsenault seeks a skilled Data Analyst to advance our Insights and Data capability in Australia and New Zealand. You will conduct maturity assessments, design data acquisition systems, and drive data quality improvements for BI and reporting.

You will work with stakeholders to define requirements, build data pipelines, and develop insightful visualisations that support decision-making. Your experience with Python/R, SQL-based ecosystems, and data modelling will help you translate complex data

Qualifications

  • Strong numeracy skills and attention to details.
  • Excellent analytical skills - ability to identify trends, patterns, anomalies and insights.
  • Ability to explore, analyse and exploit data using statistical techniques and tools.
  • 2+ years of experience in interpreting data analysis results and reporting the findings.
  • Intermediate understanding of data repositories and data base management systems (SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata, DB2, Hadoop, Snowflake, MongoDB).
  • Working knowledge of reporting and data visualisation tools.
  • 2+ years of experience in programming using Python and/or R.
  • Demonstrable experience with data modelling tools and techniques.
  • Strong presentation skills - ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • 2+ years of experience with prioritisation of information needs.
  • Ability to identify information-driven business process optimisation opportunities.
  • Public sector experience would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in developing modern self-serve Advanced Data Analysis / BI environments.

Responsibilities

  • Experienced data analyst responsible for assessing data environment maturity.

Let's talk about the role and responsibilities:
  • Experienced data analyst responsible for conducting assessment of data environment maturity
  • Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to establish and communicate requirements for business intelligence, reporting and evidence-based decision-making
  • Design and develop systems for data acquisition
  • Identify data quality issues
  • Conduct data profiling and defining data quality rules to organise data in useable formats that deliver value to the organisation
  • Identify critical data elements by understanding the information needs, information architecture and data flows
  • Determine and configure data platform/infrastructure
  • Analyse data to find answers to specific questions, identify trends and patterns and/or test hypotheses
  • Identify the root cause of the data quality issues by interacting with business stakeholders, technology stakeholders and data provider(s)
  • Develop business definitions, technical definitions and data quality rules and communicate it to stakeholder(s) for their validation
  • Interact with data quality technical team to implement the data quality rules and validate / test the results of the data quality rules implementation
  • Assess the quality of data by designing, developing and executing scripts
  • Model, develop, implement and maintain data repositories
  • Develop functional specifications for data repositories, data pipelines and information systems developers
  • Review test plans to ensure acceptable quality and integrity
  • Design and generate information assets that provide insights, support business decision-making and adding value to the business
  • Design and coordinate the development of reports and data visualisations
