Job summary

Protiviti Australia is seeking a Manager-level Data and AI Governance professional to join our advisory practice. You will lead engagements across industries, strengthening data governance, data risk management, privacy and AI governance capabilities.

You will work with senior stakeholders to design frameworks, uplift compliance, mentor teams, and contribute to Protiviti's Data and AI Governance growth.

Qualifications

• Experience with data or AI governance and compliance frameworks.
• Experience guiding privacy, regulatory or compliance uplift initiatives.
• Experience in a consulting firm and leading client engagements.
• Strong stakeholder management and senior stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent engagements.
• Experience coaching and developing junior team members.
• Strong problem-solving and advisory capabilities to translate governance concepts.
• Proactive self-starter with delivery and leadership abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in business development and growing the Data and AI Governance practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver Data and AI governance and risk management engagements across a diverse client portfolio.
• Manage engagement delivery, including scope, timelines, deliverables, quality, and client expectations.
• Advise clients on enterprise governance frameworks, governance operating models, policies, standards, and controls.
• Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a key point of contact throughout engagements.
• Conduct governance maturity assessments, gap assessments, audits, and remediation planning activities using recognised frameworks and standards.
• Support clients through regulatory and compliance uplift initiatives relating to data management, privacy, and AI governance obligations.
• Develop and review governance policies, standards, procedures, and control frameworks.
• Support clients in navigating evolving regulatory obligations and industry standards relating to data and AI governance.
• Apply recognised frameworks and standards including DAMA DMBoK, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, privacy frameworks, and applicable AI governance principles.
• Lead, coach and develop junior team members, providing direction, feedback and quality review across engagement deliverables.
• Provide subject matter guidance and support the continued development of Protiviti's Data and AI Governance offering.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, tenders, client presentations and identifying opportunities to support existing and prospective clients.
