Protiviti Australia is seeking an experienced AI Governance professional at the Senior Manager level to join our advisory practice in Australia. You will lead engagements across industries, strengthening data governance, data risk management, privacy, and emerging AI governance capabilities, partnering with senior stakeholders to design and implement governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI governance and risk management engagements for a diverse client portfolio.
• Advise on enterprise governance frameworks, operating models, policies and controls.
• Support organisations maturing AI governance in line with regulatory expectations.
• Perform governance maturity and gap assessments, audits, and remediation planning.
• Facilitate workshops with executives, business, risk, legal, privacy and tech teams.
• Support uplift initiatives related to data management, privacy and AI governance.
• Design and implement enterprise data governance and data risk management frameworks.
• Develop and review governance policies, standards, procedures and controls.
• Navigate evolving regulatory obligations and industry standards for data and AI governance.
• Apply DAMA DMBoK, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001 and related privacy frameworks.
• Collaborate with privacy and risk teams for integrated governance outcomes.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced AI Governance professional to join our growing advisory practice at the Senior Manager level.

This is an opportunity to work with leading organisations across a broad range of industries, helping clients strengthen their data governance, data risk management, privacy, and emerging AI governance capabilities.

You will play a key role in delivering complex advisory engagements, partnering with senior stakeholders to design and implement governance frameworks, uplift risk and compliance capabilities, and support organisations navigating the evolving landscape of Responsible AI.

We are particularly interested in candidates currently working within consulting environments who understand how to manage competing client priorities, navigate complex stakeholder environments, and deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced settings.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead and deliver AI governance and risk management engagements across a diverse client portfolio.
• Advise clients on enterprise governance frameworks, governance operating models, policies, standards, and controls.
• Support organisations in establishing and maturing AI governance and Responsible AI capabilities aligned to emerging regulatory and industry expectations.
• Conduct governance maturity assessments, gap assessments, audits, and remediation planning activities using recognised frameworks and standards.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagements with executive, business, risk, legal, privacy, and technology teams.
• Support clients through regulatory and compliance uplift initiatives relating to data management, privacy, and AI governance obligations.
• Design and implement enterprise data governance and data risk management frameworks.
• Develop and review governance policies, standards, procedures, and control frameworks.
• Support clients in navigating evolving regulatory obligations and industry standards relating to data and AI governance.
• Apply recognised frameworks and standards including DAMA DMBoK, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, privacy frameworks, and applicable AI governance principles.
• Partner with privacy and risk teams to support integrated governance outcomes across data, privacy, cyber, and AI domains.

• Experience supporting clients with privacy, regulatory, or compliance uplift initiatives.
• Experience working within a consulting firm.
• Strong stakeholder management and client engagement capability
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across concurrent engagements
• A proactive, self-starting mindset with strong delivery capability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
