Job summary

Talent Corp in Brisbane is seeking a Data/AI Architect for a state government department to define and govern the architecture of the intelligence data and analytics platform built on Azure, Databricks and Power BI.

You will provide technical leadership across data ingestion, governance, and AI capabilities, ensuring alignment with security, information management and enterprise requirements while guiding delivery teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Data/Information or Enterprise Architecture.
• Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale cloud and analytics solutions.
• Strong Microsoft Azure core skills and data platform experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design of the data analytics platform aligned with enterprise principles.
• Own target-state data architecture including ingestion, storage, governance, analytics and AI.
• Design modern data platforms: Lakehouse, Data Mesh, operational data stores, analytical assets.
• Lead AI and advanced analytics architecture using ML, generative AI and predictive analytics.
• Develop architecture standards, governance frameworks, and technical patterns.
• Provide Azure data services leadership across storage, processing, governance and security.

Job description

We are currently looking for a Data/AI Architect for a state government department based in Brisbane CBD. This role will be responsible for defining, governing and assuring the architecture of the Intelligence Technology data and analytics platform built on Microsoft Azure Data Services, Databricks and Power BI reporting technologies. The role ensures solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture, security, information management and operational requirements while supporting successful program delivery. This role is responsible for technical leadership to relevant product development, delivery, and support team members.

• Contract until 26/02/2027 (with planned extension up until end of Feb 2028)
• Up to $158.23 per hour inc super OR $1,256.86 per day inc super (based on 8 hours)

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of the Intelligence Technology data and analytics platform, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles and business outcomes.
• Own the target-state data architecture, including data acquisition, ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, intelligence, reporting, analytics and AI capabilities.
• Design and govern modern data platform architectures, including Data Lakehouse, Medallion Architecture, Data Mesh principles, operational data stores, and analytical data assets.
• Lead AI and advanced analytics architecture activities, identifying opportunities to leverage machine learning, generative AI, predictive analytics, and intelligent automation.
• Develop data models, architecture standards, governance frameworks, and technical patterns supporting enterprise-wide intelligence capabilities.
• Provide architecture leadership for Azure data services, including storage, processing, analytics, governance, monitoring, and security capabilities.

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience in Data/Information Architecture or Enterprise Architecture
• Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-scale cloud, analytics, intelligence, digital transformation, or business application solutions.
• Ideally strong technical background across Microsoft Azure, ADF, Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Lakes, Purview, Data Services and other Microsoft technologies.
