About the role

Join a major Queensland Government transformation program and help shape a modern data and AI capability from the ground up. This is a senior architecture role focused on enterprise data platforms, lakehouse architecture, AI capabilities and secure data sharing across multiple government agencies. You'll help define the architecture for a high-profile intelligence and analytics platform, with a strong focus on Azure, modern data platforms and responsible AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Define target-state data, AI and platform architecture
• Design scalable Azure-based data and lakehouse solutions
• Establish data governance, security, integration and architecture standards
• Guide AI and analytics capabilities across the broader technology roadmap
• Lead architecture workshops, design reviews and technical decision-making

Highly desirable criteria

• Hold extensive experience as a Data Architect, AI Architect or Solution Architect
• Demonstrate strong Azure data platform and lakehouse architecture experience
• Apply modern data, AI, governance and integration architecture patterns
• Deliver architecture within complex government or highly regulated environments
• Communicate confidently with senior executives and technical stakeholders

Desirable criteria

• Bring Queensland Government or broader Australian Government experience
• Apply Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Synapse or Azure Data Lake
• Understand responsible AI, data governance and enterprise security
• Hold relevant cloud, data or architecture certifications

Skills and experience
