Job summary

McMahon Services is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our Darwin Precontracts team. The role offers potential to appoint a Senior Estimator for the right candidate and is focused on preparing competitive tenders for Defence, Government and commercial projects across the Northern Territory.

Responsibilities include take-offs, subcontractor pricing, evaluating bids, detailed cost estimates and tender submissions, working with Project Managers and subcontractors, and ensuring smooth

Qualifications

• Experience with Defence projects or similar security-sensitive environments.
• Strong commercial and analytical capabilities.
• Experience with Expert Estimation or similar estimating software.
• Experience using Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar programming software is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare building measurements and quantity take-offs.
• Manage subcontractor and supplier pricing enquiries.
• Evaluate subcontractor quotations and pricing submissions.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender pricing.
• Assist with tender submissions and supporting documentation.
• Work closely with Project Managers, construction teams and subcontractors throughout the tender process.
• Support successful project handovers following tender award.
