Job summary

Royal Flying Doctor Service NT in Darwin seeks an experienced Manager Maintenance Operations to lead aviation engineering, safety and regulatory compliance. You will guide a capable team to maximise aircraft availability for lifesaving aeromedical missions and ensure operations meet CASA standards.

You will collaborate with Senior Base Engineers, maintenance planning and logistics to optimise performance and foster continuous improvement across RFDS NT operations.

Qualifications

• CASA B1 and/or B2 Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer licence.
• Extensive aircraft maintenance leadership experience in regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of CASA CAR 30 and CASR Parts 39, 42, 66 and 145.
• Experience on Pilatus PC-12, Cessna C208 or similar aircraft.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams across multiple locations.
• Excellent communication, planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Head of Engineering with strategic planning and daily operations management.
• Oversee maintenance activities to maintain airworthiness, safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
• Act as delegate for Head of Engineering and deputise for Senior Base Engineers as required.
• Coordinate modifications, upgrades and maintenance programs for PC-12 and C208 fleets.
• Lead and mentor Darwin engineering team and drive workforce development.
• Promote safety culture and proactive risk management across operations.
• Liaise with CASA, OEMs, contractors and vendors for outcomes.
• Monitor aircraft downtime and optimise resource utilisation.
