Job summary

NRW Holdings in Perth is seeking an IT security professional to administer Defence-compliant environments and manage ASD Essential Eight controls. Based at our Perth CBD Head Office, you will own security operations, ensure secure, compliant, and well-governed technology environments, and align with DISP requirements.

You will lead Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender stewardship, support audits, and help strengthen NRW's cyber posture while collaborating with Security Officers and project

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Security or Computer Science.
• Extensive experience in IT, technology or cybersecurity teams.
• Experience administering Microsoft 365 environments including Intune and Entra ID.
• Strong understanding of ASD Essential Eight and DISP requirements.
• Experience supporting Defence, Government or DISP-accredited environments.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM or Microsoft/Palo Alto/Cisco are highly regarded.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain risks to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Defence-compliant technology environments, including M365, Entra ID, Intune, Windows 365 and Defender.
• Coordinate DISP assurance assessments, audits and remediation with the Security Officer/CSO.
• Manage identity and access controls, MFA, CA, privileged access and security groups.
• Maintain Essential Eight controls, including patching, application control and hardening.
• Monitor security compliance and coordinate remediation within timeframes.
• Administer backup and recovery services with regular recovery testing.
• Maintain secure SharePoint sites, project workspaces and documentation.
• Provide guidance to Defence personnel and participate in incident response and security engineering.
• Identify and implement continual improvements to strengthen NRW's security posture.

Job description

You will play a critical role in the administration, securityand operational management of NRW's Defence Industry SecurityProgram (DISP) environments. Based at our Perth CBD Head Office,you will be responsible for maintaining secure, compliant andwell-governed technology environments, ensuring alignment with DISPrequirements and Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) EssentialEight controls. This is a great opportunity for an experienced ITor cyber security professional to take ownership of importantsecurity operations while helping shape and continually improveNRW's cyber security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain NRW's Defence-compliant technologyenvironments, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune,Windows 365 and Microsoft Defender.
• Coordinate DISP assurance assessments, audits, evidencesubmissions and remediation activities in collaboration withthe Security Officer / CSO.
• Manage identity and access controls, including userprovisioning, MFA, Conditional Access, privileged accessmanagement and security groups.
• Maintain Essential Eight security controls, includingapplication control, patch management, vulnerabilityremediation and application hardening.
• Monitor security compliance, manage vulnerabilities andcoordinate remediation activities within agreedtimeframes.
• Administer backup and recovery services, including regularrecovery validation testing.
• Maintain secure SharePoint sites, project workspaces,operational procedures and technical documentation.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Defence projectpersonnel and contribute to broader cyber security activities,including incident response and security engineering.
• Identify and implement continual improvements to strengthenNRW's security posture and operational effectiveness.

What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology,Information Security, Computer Science or a relateddiscipline.
• Extensive experience working within IT, technology or cybersecurity teams.
• Previous experience administering Microsoft 365environments, including Intune and Entra ID.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID,Intune and Windows 365 in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of the ASD Essential Eight, DISPrequirements and implementing security controls.
• Experience managing identity and access, endpoint security,application control, vulnerability management and patchcompliance.
• Experience supporting security audits, compliance reviewsand maintaining technical documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and communicationskills, with the ability to explain technical risks tonon-technical stakeholders.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM or relevantMicrosoft, Palo Alto and Cisco certifications will be highlyregarded.
• Experience supporting Defence, Government orDISP-accredited environments will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated behaviours which align with NRW’s values andsafety standards
