Paxus is seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer for a Brisbane CBD 12-month contract to uplift cyber resilience across a major public sector organisation. You will design, implement and operate security solutions, embedding controls across multiple domains and lifecycle stages.

You’ll collaborate with security architects, infrastructure teams and stakeholders, translating business needs into secure, reliable technical outcomes while contributing to security uplift programs and compliance

Qualificações

• Proven experience in a Cyber Security Engineer, Security Engineer or similar role within a complex enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience implementing, configuring and supporting security technologies across multiple cyber security domains.
• Experience with technical integration, testing, troubleshooting and remediation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and technical documentation skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to multiple initiatives.
• Experience delivering cyber uplift or cyber resilience programs, knowledge of frameworks such as Essential Eight, NIST CSF and ISO 27001, and relevant industry certifications will be highly regarded.

Are you a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer looking to make a meaningful impact on enterprise security? Join a major public sector organisation and contribute to a significant Cyber Uplift Program, delivering security solutions that protect critical systems, reduce risk and strengthen cyber resilience.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in designing, implementing and operationalising cyber security solutions across a broad range of technology domains. Working closely with security architects, enterprise architects, infrastructure teams, vendors and business stakeholders, you’ll help embed effective security controls throughout the solution lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You’re an experienced Cyber Security Engineer who combines strong technical capability with a practical, solutions-focused approach. You can translate business and security requirements into secure, reliable and supportable technical solutions.

You’ll ideally bring:

• Proven experience in a Cyber Security Engineer, Security Engineer or similar role within a complex enterprise environment.
• Hands-on experience implementing, configuring and supporting security technologies across multiple cyber security domains.
• Experience with technical integration, testing, troubleshooting and remediation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and technical documentation skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and contribute to multiple initiatives.

Experience delivering cyber uplift or cyber resilience programs, knowledge of frameworks such as Essential Eight, NIST CSF and ISO 27001, and relevant industry certifications will be highly regarded.

Contract Details

• Location: Brisbane CBD
• Duration: Up to 12 months
• Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Requirement: Criminal history check
