Job summary

Sharp & Carter is seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer for a Brisbane-based security uplift program. You will implement and operationalise enterprise security controls, focusing on Essential Eight and NIST maturity across IAM, PAM/PIM, and application hardening.

You will work with Azure, SSO, and identity governance technologies, transitioning security solutions from project delivery into BAU operations while collaborating with technology and security stakeholders to raise cyber maturity.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or similar.
• Strong experience implementing and operationalising cyber security controls.
• Experience with PAM/PIM, IAM or IGA solutions.

Cyber Security Engineer

Brisbane | Contract | Cyber Security Uplift

Join a major cyber security uplift program focused on implementing and operationalising enterprise security controls across a large and complex technology environment.

This is a hands‑on Cyber Security Engineering role supporting Essential Eight and NIST maturity initiatives across application control, patching, application hardening, privileged access and identity governance.

Key responsibilities:

• Implement and operationalise cyber security controls across enterprise environments
• Support PAM, PIM, IAM and IGA initiatives
• Contribute to Essential Eight uplift across application control, patching and hardening
• Work with Azure, SSO and authentication technologies
• Support the transition of security solutions from project delivery into BAU operations
• Collaborate with technology and security stakeholders to improve cyber maturity

About you:

• Significant experience as a Cyber Security Engineer or similar
• Strong experience implementing and operationalising cyber security controls
• Experience with PAM/PIM, IAM or IGA solutions
• Exposure to BeyondTrust, SailPoint, Azure/Entra ID or similar technologies
• Understanding of Essential Eight and/or NIST security frameworks
• Strong understanding of identity, privileged access, SSO and authentication
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Experience with Patch My PC, Airlock Digital, BeyondTrust or SailPoint will be highly regarded, but equivalent enterprise technologies will also be considered.
