Job summary

The Recruitment Hive Pty Ltd is seeking a Cyber Security Engineer for a newly formed government organisation in Canberra. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting security and compliance solutions across hybrid and cloud environments in line with Australian Government Cyber Security requirements.

You will work with Microsoft Sentinel, MIP/DLP, Defender 365/ATP, and related tools, plus vulnerability scanning (Qualys) to deliver secure, resilient systems and documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing, delivering and supporting Microsoft Security & Compliance in hybrid and cloud environments per Australian Government Cyber Security requirements.
• Demonstrated experience implementing, configuring and managing security tooling including SIEM and PAM across an enterprise (Microsoft Sentinel, DLP, Defender 365, Defender ATP).
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools, preferably Qualys, including generating recommendations and action plans for management.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, deliver and support cyber security and compliance solutions in hybrid and cloud environments per government requirements.
• Configure and monitor Microsoft security products (Sentinel, M365 Defender, MIP/DLP, Defender ATP).
• Automate and implement via Infrastructure as Code where possible.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external suppliers.
• Develop design documents, high level designs and SOPs.

Our client, a newly formed Government Organisation, whose focus in to project Australia's natural environment and heritage sites as well as our response to climate change and water / energy resources, require the services of a Cyber Security Engineer.

Duties of the Cyber Security Engineer:

• Design, implement, deliver, and support Cyber Security and Compliance solutions in hybrid and cloud only environments in line with Australia Government Cyber Security and userbusiness requirements;


• Configure, support and monitor some or all of the following products:

    • Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

• Automate and implement via Infrastructure as Code solutions;


• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams of business, technology, external suppliers, and other subject-matter experts;


• Develop documentation such as Detailed Designs, High Level Designs, As-Built-As-Configured and standard operating procedures.

• Experience in designing, implementing, delivering, and supporting Microsoft Security and Compliance solutions in hybrid and cloud only environments in line with Australia Government Cyber Security requirements;


• Demonstrated experience with implementing, configuring, and managing security tooling including SIEM and PAM across an enterprise providing resilient and highly available solutions. supporting and monitoring some or all of the following products: Microsoft Sentinel, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Microsoft Defender 365 and Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP);


• Demonstrated experience with Vulnerability scanning tools preferably Qualys, including the analysis and reporting of the data to provide recommendations and action plans to management.
