Job summary

FedEx Logistics in Australia is seeking an experienced Customs Broker Lead to help shape a brand-new specialist clearance capability across Australia and New Zealand, ensuring compliance and delivering exceptional customer outcomes.

You will lead complex clearance matters, design processes, mentor teams, and partner with customers and internal teams to drive automation, continuous improvement, and strategic direction. Occasional travel and hybrid work are available.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in customs clearance, brokerage or international trade compliance.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and brokerage operations.
• Experience handling complex or escalated customer and clearance matters.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
• Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong communication skills.
• Experience coaching, mentoring or supporting team development.
• Relevant customs qualifications, licensing or certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the resolution of complex and escalated customs clearance matters.
• Support the design and implementation of operational processes and procedures.
• Act as a key technical expert for specialist brokerage activities.
• Partner with customers to develop effective clearance solutions.
• Collaborate with teams across Operations, Clearance, Commercial and Regulatory functions.
• Support training, knowledge sharing and capability development.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements.
• Contribute to automation and system improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company standards.
